Barcsay Múzeum

In 1977, József Barcsay presented nearly 200 paintings, artwork and sublime circles to the Hungarian State. He selected not only the building for his permanent exhibition, but also his paintings from other public collections. Therefore it became a living collection and not a museum. Thus, he gave a credible picture of the work of the artist, as the testimony of the master demonstrates faithfully: "This is me, this is my oeuvre."

The collection, hosted by the XIX. The neo-classicist residential building was built in the early 19th century by the long-standing Schartner family for a century and a half. The Steger family, whose famous tenor series, Ferenc Xéger Steger was born here, is also home to them.

Exhibition of Jenő Barcsay The exhibition was opened in 1978 after the reconstruction and expansion of Miklós Hofer's plans. The full lifecycle exhibition presents 12 chronological styles of the artist's career.

In 2008, in honor of the 20th anniversary of the artist's death, the Bethlen Gábor College of Nagyenyed made a copy of the museum, which was erected in the courtyard in April 2009 in front of the main gate.

The Barcsay Collection is part of the Ferenczy Museum Center.
