In 1977, József Barcsay presented nearly 200 paintings, artwork and sublime circles to the Hungarian State. He selected not only the building for his permanent exhibition, but also his paintings from other public collections. Therefore it became a living collection and not a museum. Thus, he gave a credible picture of the work of the artist, as the testimony of the master demonstrates faithfully: "This is me, this is my oeuvre."
