Its founder, José López Rivas, arrived in 1886 from Spain and finally took root in 1898 in General Gutiérrez, department of Maipú, Mendoza, where he decided to build the current winery. Thus began the development of their wines, produced to date with their own strains and with a principle that is maintained since then: control all the steps of the elaboration, taking care of and supervising every detail. In 1922 his only son, José Federico López, was incorporated, and under his leadership, the winery was decidedly oriented towards the elaboration of fine wines. Then, he leaves the place to his sons Carlos Alberto López, current president, and Martha López, vice president of the board of directors, who together with the fourth generation, make up a line of wineries united by love and passion for great wines. True to its tradition, the winery currently has a high production capacity and an image of intact quality, recognized in Argentina and in the countries where it has been exporting for more than 40 years. Trajectory backed by a formula as simple as it is difficult to emulate: the excellence of its wines, the result of a style cultivated by four generations, the "López Style".
