Located in the center of business and cultural life of Odessa, the Frederick Coquelion boutique hotel is located in a 4-storey building built in 1852 by the famous Russian architect Ivan Kozlov, commissioned by the glorious Coqulenes family, who made a great contribution to the development and prosperity of the young city. The facade of the building, which is a monument of architecture and is under state protection, is decorated with a stuccoed Gallic Rooster - a symbol of the ancient French family of the Coqulens.

During its half-century history, the House of Cocklen has seen many famous personalities. In the second half of the 19th century, the famous Russian pianist Sofia Rubinstein, the first teacher of the incomparable Nadezhda Nezhdanova, the sister of the world-famous Russian musicians of the Rubinstein brothers, lived in the building where the hotel is located. Here there were famous artists and musicians, poets and vocalists: Leonid and Rosalia Pasternak (parents of the poet Boris Pasternak), Anton and Ilya Rubinstein, Nadezhda Nezhdanova and many others.

In the summer of 2011, the almost complete restoration of the House of Coquelin ended. The new boutique hotel "Frederick Koklen" hospitably opened its doors, representing a successful combination of sophistication of classic style, modern technology and first-class service.
