The fort is situated on the outskirts of Letohrad in the middle of nature. The seat was probably founded at the end of the 13th century, and in the 16th century the fort was rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau. After moving the nobility from Orlice in 1650 to the Ksuparecky Chateau, the object was adapted for economic purposes. By the end of the 20th century, the building had been added to the fortress area, and the fortress was destroyed for 40 years. In 2008, the Orlik fortress purchased EYWAN s.r.o., which started the reconstruction work for the whole area.

After the revitalization in June 2012, a new tourist destination was built in eastern Bohemia which offers visitors not only a tour of the reconstructed fortress with original Gothic and Renaissance cellars, a collection of weapons, a functional historical bookstore and other expositions, but also a medieval tavern, restaurant, wellness and accommodation.

The historical building with rarely preserved building parts from the Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Classicist period is a cultural monument. Interesting is especially the intact cellar from the time of the establishment of the fortress, the newly discovered masonry of the original ground floor, which indicates the original larger four-story building. Preserved figural sgraffito decoration on the outer plaster of the Renaissance castle tower confirms the uniqueness of this mansion between rural settlements throughout Bohemia. Under the current floor, the original wall of the fortress from the end of the 13th century is 2.1 m wide and a 400 years old hidden medieval cellar was discovered. During the archaeological survey a large number of tile fragments from all the building periods of the fortress were found. Also, the findings of wall paintings from the second half of the 16th century do not have a similarity in the entire region of East Bohemia in the last 60 years.
