Since its foundation in 1989, the Keramische Museum Goedewaagen has been conducting scientific research into Dutch Dutch pottery after 1873. Besides a treasure room of ornamental works, tools, tiles and tiles from Art Nouveau and Art Deco, the museum regularly presents groundbreaking exhibitions about its research.
With its thesaurus, the museum is building the largest database in the world of digital source material on Dutch pottery. For the benefit of collectors all over the world, permanent determinations are made and, where possible, falsified and placed on an international site. With various factory workgroups, the production of models and decors of Dutch companies has previously been reconstructed. Knowledge about clay, icing and cooking recipes is also collected systematically.
For the purpose of education, a coherent lesson program on the use of pottery is provided in the everyday lifestyle culture of the 20th century. With guided tours, workshops and symposia attention is being paid to the National Heritage that represents the museum research.
