Μακεδονικό Μουσείο Σύγχρονης Τέχνης

The MACEDONIAN CENTER OF CONTEMPORARY ART, ARCHITECTURE and industrial design and MACEDONIAN MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART form a citizens' space, unique in the history of Greek visual arts. The Museum is supported by his friends and has partnerships with spiritual entities, cultural and economic life of the country. For this unique story, based on voluntary interpersonal relationships, supported by the state in all its operating expenses, as well as culture programs and exhibitions and events are covered exclusively by donations.

Since the founding of the museum collection continues to be enriched with new donations, both large panels as Alexander Iolas, Franz Geierhaas, Magda Kotzia, Alexander Xidis, Dimitris Meimaroglou and artists. The collection includes artists: A. Akrithakis, A. Aperghis, K. Varotsos, C. Zongolopoulos, D. Zouni, B. Kaniaris K. Tsoclis, N. Kessanlis, C. Moralis, D. Mytaras, Paul, D. Oppenheim, Niki de St. Phalle, Takis, V. Velickovic, A. Warhol. Today the museum has more than 1800 paintings, sculpture, video art, assemblies, installations, prints and photography projects works by Greek and foreign artists. Important is the offer of the museum in terms of museum education programs that reaches children and makes them partakers of contemporary art. In specially equipped premises MMCA held art workshops for children aged 3.5 -13 years where children come into contact with art, various techniques and with artists of various periodic reports Museum. Alongside performed interactively nature programs for all levels of education as well as special tour groups and adults. The Museum has a library with 3,000 titles (books about the history of art and catalogs of solo and group exhibitions), and a fully equipped amphitheater which hosts speech events, seminars, conferences, theatrical performances, musical performances, matinee etc. Also in the renovated shop put paintings, prints, sculpture, unique or multiple, utilitarian and decorative objects modern design and jewelry by artists designers.
