Museo Cerralbo

The Cerralbo Museum has a long history. It was created by Don Enrique de Aguilera y Gamboa, XVII Marquis of Cerralbo (1845-1922), who combine his lifelong dedication to the Politics and History with sensitivity to the Fine Arts.

 He toured Europe with his family, visiting museums and acquiring works of art, bringing together a magnificent collection, with numismatists, bibliographic and documentary collections former exceeds 50,000 pieces. The quality and diversity of genres spanning reached then considered the most comprehensive private collection of art in the country; their training contributed notably his wife, Dona Inocencia Serrano and Cerver, and the children of this, Don Antonio and Dona Amelia del Valle Serrano, Marquis of Villa-Huerta.
