Museo Etnografico del Friuli

Giacomelli building houses the new ethnographic museum of Friuli that proposes civic collections for some time inaccessible and unpublished materials of the legacies of the past decades. The route covers the themes of traditional Friulian life, the sacred, of the times, the signs of everyday objects, clothing, masks, games, music and entertainment with a wide display of goods. The collections were formed in large part thanks to the sensitivity of private (gifts, deposits, legacies, etc.) And consist of very different products: from ergologica culture and rural life to popular domestic life and elegant, from crafts to science , from the trendy costume. Today, "Gaetano Perusini - Lea D'Orlandi" and "Luigi and Andreina Ciceri" funds are the fundamental points of the ethnographic collections. In the museum alternates the permanent display in temporary exhibitions, with the aim: · To make known the history of the city, the area, the dynamics and forms of traditional life evolved over time, with particular reference to local culture · To involve the schools, with finalized projects · Vocational training, in particular craft, for a comparison with techniques and knowledge of local custom manuals · To deal with academics, specialists and scholars who will find testimonies of material culture · To provide opportunities for meetings and exchange of knowledge with anyone interested
