Museum "Leben am Meer"

The hometown association Esens e.V. established the museum "Living by the sea" in the Peldemühle. The inauguration took place in December 1989. The museum today uses all the mill floors, the adjoining miller's house and an extension replacing a former barn.

On display are the settlement history of Harlingerland and the history of the city Esens.

Since 2016, the Museum "Life by the Sea" works in cooperation with the National Park Information Office "Wattenhuus-Bensersiel".

"GPS Mission".

Discover the city of Esens in a different way! A GPS device guides the participants through Esens to the small, hidden treasures of the city. At the individual stations it is necessary to solve different tasks. Especially for school classes, this event offers a new challenge.

Duration: about 2 hours Age: from 12 years Cost: 5 € per GPS device or 4 € with NordseeServiceCard 30,00 € for groups with max. 25 people For families and individuals we offer a GPS mission on Fridays at 11am.

archaeologists training

Ran to the excavation boxes! Proper training as an archaeologist takes years. At this event, the students learn important basic knowledge in a short time. The Archaeologist Training is an offer for school classes or other groups, with the aim to learn the contents of the museum in a fun way.
