Parco Adda Nord

On February 4, 1973 was held in Trezzo a conference for the Adda River Park which saw, among the promoters, the Provincial Tourist Board in Milan, the Intermunicipal Consortium of the Adda, the body which brought together the Milanese shore municipalities, and the City of Trezzo, to jointly express the desire to preserve the natural heritage and landscape of the park through the instrument.

In the years 1972/1973, the Regional Commission for study and research on the parks established on the basis of information provided by specially established provincial commissions, which throughout the river channel to the Po were to return to the Park area.

The resulting draft law n ° 249/74 measures of urgent protection for the establishment of nature reserves one could see the boundaries of the Park through a site plan. Then the demarcation was completed and attached to the floor of the parks approved by the Regional Council on May 10th 1977. The p.d.l. 103/81 maintained the Adda between the parks of regional interest. The laws establishing the individual parks, however, include the fluvial division into two parks: Adda North and South Adda. The need for this division was established for both the vastness of the territory affected by the entire course of the river for both peculiar characteristics of each of the two sections of the river.

The stretch of river that is part of the North Adda Regional Park covers municipalities of the provinces of Lecco, Milan, Bergamo. The total area of ​​the Park (at the time of institution) is 5,650 hectares. The territory has its maximum altitude is 260 meters and the minimum at 100 meters above sea level. At the exit of the bridge of Lecco the middle of the river water level is 199 meters above sea level.
