The Residenza Maritti is housed in an 18th-century building, built on Roman ruins, completely renovated in 1999, overlooking the ruins of the temple of Marte Ultore, in the forum of Augustus, in the heart of the most ancient and characteristic district of the city where they meet testimonies from the Roman, Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque periods in a succession of styles covering 2,500-year history.   The Monti district is presently present with narrow streets, almost never flat, which affect the urban fabric between palaces of various eras, where artisan shops, bars, old taverns and art galleries open up: it is the ancient Roman "subura" today suburra (ancient area under the city).
