Camera Obscura mit dem Museum zur Vorgeschichte des Films

The largest walk-in camera obscura in the world was installed in the dome of the old Broicher water tower on the occasion of the Mülheim State Garden Show in 1992. Today, there is a complete documentation of the film's prehistory with unique exhibits from the "S" collection of the Wuppertal KH.W. Steckelings. They are the historical heart of the exhibition, inviting you on a fascinating journey through the world of visual perception, optical illusion and physical backgrounds of moving images. The special feature: replicas of the exhibits invite you to try them out. Regular temporary exhibitions complete the offer in the former water tower.
