Description

The castle stands at the entrance of the old town of Gallipoli, the city has always been fortified, and, due to its strategic location, disputed. The manor has changed over the centuries its face and its function, from historical to modern defensive stronghold container and promoter of culture through events and exhibitions at national and international character. Today it offers a historical tour dedicated to the city and a fascinating overview of the interior spaces, but also wide and suggestive glimpses of gallipoline bays. You can see several architectural details such as the spectacular Hall Ennagonale, the Halls Circular with their striking echo effect, the women's gallery and the Tudor arch of the old entrance to the fortress. After decades of closure and neglect, from July 2014, the Gallipoli Castle opened its doors and became an open magnet and running all year. Following a call for tenders, was assigned the management of the entire manor, for the next five years, the Agency of Maglie Orion Communication with the artistic direction of Raffaela Zizzari.
