Castle Amerongen, a 17th century country house in the village of Amerongen on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, with its former residents, such as diplomat Godard Adriaan van Reede, his wife Margaretha Turner and their son Godard Adriaan van Reede Jr. who tell you a special story about working and live on a castle and receive you in a welcoming way.

The castle was closed for ten years in connection with a complex restoration of building interior, collection and garden. This in close consultation and cooperation with the Rijksdienst Cultural Heritage. The building restoration has now been completed within the stipulated time and budget. The knowledge and experience gained is shared in a Restoration Expertise Center, which is in development with public and private parties involved in the restoration.
