In Korkeasaari you travel from the tundra to the rainforest and from the tops of the mountains to the Finnish wetland. The zoo's 150 animal species and nearly 1,000 plant species tell about biodiversity. In order to protect our diversity, we grow endangered species in Korkeasaari. We also contribute to the protection of habitats in the original habitats of species.
More than half a million people visit the island of Korkeasa annually. The zoo is therefore an important distributor of natural science, but also one of the most popular recreational areas in our country, as well as in the summer.
