On this great fully paved space that is the Léopold, the Arlon courthouse was erected from 1864 to plans by the city architect, Albert-Jean-Baptiste Jamot. Gothic Revival style, it offers a new architectural variety to the set, which already is a provincial neoclassical palace. The courthouse was inaugurated September 13, 1886 on the occasion of the joyful entry of Leopold || Arlon.


This elegant building is composed of a main body made of three levels and two lower wings. The building is located on a high base. Access to the building is via an imposing staircase double flight above which are three doors rainbow broken. The building housed mainly the Luxembourg criminal court and the court of first instance but since April 2003, the entire Judicial Services has integrated the new buildings Arlon courthouse.


Since 2013, under the leadership of Mayor and Aldermen of the College, the different rooms of the first and second floor underwent a major renovation. Today, the old courthouse has become a cultural place in which alongside temporary exhibitions of prestige, lectures and musical events especially.
