Once upon a time ... there was a big old house from the year 1520. In many hundreds of years many people lived in it. It has experienced good times and also wars. Many people came and went again. In the course of many years one has always tried to adapt it to the needs of the people who lived in it and the time. But the old beams wanted to stay! Straw and clay needed the house to breathe, the beams bent and the traces of life wanted to preserve this house.

A house with history!

With much regard to the history we offer in the lovingly renovated half-timbered house, in the middle of the historic old town of Alsfeld, a Bed & Breakfast. All rooms in our half-timbered house take you into the fairytale world of the Brothers Grimm.

Coziness, the charm of timber framing and the attention to detail make the special flair of this unique place to stay.

Information material about sights, things to do and excursions are available from us. You will also find books about the life and work of the Brothers Grimm. Besides German editions of the classic "Grimms Märchen" we also have an English and a Japanese version.
