The Museum of Light was inaugurated on November 18, 1996 in the Old Temple of the Maximum College of San Pedro and San Pablo, in the Historic Center of Mexico City. This building, witness of remarkable and determining events of the national life, added to the scientific content of the Museum its artistic and historical richness, thus offering a novel and original discourse where science, art and history would amalgamate in a natural way, to delight and knowledge of its visitors. After nearly 14 years of operation, in the framework of the celebration of the Bicentennial of Independence in 2010, this venue became the seat of the Museum of the Constitutions. It was so, after moving the Filmoteca of the UNAM of the place that occupied in the Small Patio of the Old School of San Ildefonso, was relocated in him to the Museum of the Light. The Museum opened its doors in this new headquarters to resume activities at the end of January 2011.
