The Historical Museum Carabineros of Chile was created as Museum and Historical Archive of Carabineros on March 17, 1958.

It was officially inaugurated on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the Institution, on April 29, 1977. After operating in different units, in 1992 it was definitively moved to the old house used by the Directorate of the Carabineros School of General Carlos Ibáñez del Campo, where it works until today.

The exhibition presents a chronological exhibition of the police function in Chile, which ranges from the Conquest to our days, through Independence, the Republic and the Pacific War, among others.
