The term sepulchral culture derives from the Latin sepulcrum and means grave, tomb and includes all cultural phenomena related to dying, death, burial, mourning and remembering: graves, coffins and funeral rites and customs, even works of contemporary artists and can be so understood in the broadest sense as a funeral and burial culture.
