The Travel Theater is a much sought after and internationally recognized mobile theater. The theater currently plays 25 different productions all over Germany and the neighboring countries like Belgium, Switzerland, Denmark, Netherlands etc. In many big cities like Berlin, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Hanover, Cologne, but also in small communities in the country the theater is a guest Several federal states, but also different cities have already selected the theater as the children's theater of the month, the theater is regularly seen at international festivals and invited with plays or projects at renowned major events such as European Capital of Culture Weimar, Expo 2000 or Culture Capital Ruhr 2010. In the last six years, the theater has been awarded the Marburger Theater Prize for four different productions, at the Hessian Children's and Youth Theater Days. This is unique and proves the exceptional position of the theater. And in 2008, Stefan Becker received the Hessian Culture Prize. An important focus is in Kassel and Northern Hesse. For the region, the theater developed the concept for the exhibition MÄRCHENTHEATER AM MÄRCHENLANDWEG - children's theater in the most beautiful and unusual places. Over 120 performances at 27 venues in the four summer months. But also in terms of content, the theater deals with the region and Kassel, such as in the STORIES OF A REGION, five stories on the common cultural identity of Hesse and Thuringia (for this there was the Culture Prize of the City of Kassel) or in the GRIMM PROJECT. So far 15 formally different Grimm edits, which were last seen on Märchenlandweg in the district of Kassel and pick up the regional cultural focus. Another artistic focus is the realization of Dutch, Italian and Swedish children's theater pieces and picture books, even for children from 2 years old. At present, the theater is very actively engaged in language and cultural promotion projects for children / kindergartens and families in social hot spots. Alone 15 kindergartens in Kassel receive 4-5 performances a year and theater educational training. The play theater explores different theatrical expressions such as drama, narrative and picture book theater, dance, the theater of things, figure and shadow theater. The ensemble currently comprises five employees in the fields of drama, dance, objects, costume, set design, direction and organization (Stefan Becker, Jutta Damaschke, Gisela Honens, Carlo Ghirardelli, Josephine Damaschke-Becker). Stefan Becker, the artistic director, was previously the director of the children's and youth theater at the Bremen State Theater. All employees have professional training in their areas of work, including: a. in Paris, New York, Zurich and have worked both in the independent theater, and partly for many years at state theaters.
