The museum was founded and open to the public on the occasion of marking the 400th anniversary of the great Seljačke bune from 1573. Within the museum are open a large monument to Selinja buni and Matiji Gupca, work of sculptor Antun Augustinčić, and a permanent exhibition show. The museum is housed in the Baroque Orsic family manor from the 18th century, on the site of a medieval fortress from the 13th century. The castle was built by Krsto Oršić, a member of the old Croatian noble family, and his rich wife Josip, born Zichyi. Along with the mentioned monument and permanent exhibition, you can see the chapel, the well-kept cellar, the gallery for the occasional exhibition castle. There is also a space in the loft suitable for seminars, openings, promotions and lessons, as well as souvenir shops and bistros. In and around the castle area are organized workshops, concerts, presentations, medieval events, gatherings ..
