Welcome to the Fanpage of the Kunst- und Heimatmuseum in Lorch am Rhein The Lorch Art and Museum of Local History was opened in May 1989. The focus of the museum is the art collection of the pastor Anton Karl Pfaff (1872-1926), a native of Lorchers, who left his collection in 1925 to his hometown Lorch. The Lorcher Museum is the only art museum in the Rheingau-Taunus district.
The small museum building, which is set up in three floors, contains mainly sacral medieval sculptures from the period around 1400. In the center you can see the head of John the Baptist (mid-14th century poplar wood).
