Theater 58

THEATER 58 was founded on February 26, 1958 in Lucerne. It is one of the oldest free theaters in Switzerland. Young idealistic and theater-loving actors and actors had come together to escape the anonymous city theater business and to create a theater together that answers the questions of the time and opens up to spirituality.

After a few years the THEATER 58 became a touring theater with performances in Switzerland, partly also in Germany and Austria. Each season 60 - 80 performances take place to city and country. In all these years THEATER 58 has remained true to itself. Not the squinting of rapid successes, fashionable trends, events and sensations is the goal and concern of the theater work, but the intrusion into the essence of man, into the adventure and the mystery of its existence.
