Theater GegenStand

In terms of content, Theater GegenStand has developed different emphases over the years, but always remains open to new ideas and impulses. From the very beginning, Theater GegenStand has been presenting scenic readings - not infrequently his own texts - and idiosyncratic productions of contemporary and classical dramas. In addition there were dramatizations of prose texts and piece texts, which were created during the rehearsals of improvisations. Another focus is the improvisational theater. The counter-branch offshoot Fast Forward Theater is constantly refining its technique, trying again and again new methods and maintains a lively exchange with improv theater colleagues at home and abroad. The hospital improv soap Marburg Hope has been running regularly since May 2004.

Theater education

Theater education has a high priority at Theater GegenStand. This can be seen both in the close cooperation with the theater youth club ACTeasy and the varied workshop offerings, as well as in the self-designed classroom productions Always Awful and Give a Boy a Gun.
