Emil Schumacher Museum

The Emil Schumacher Museum in Hagen is dedicated to the life's work of the painter Emil Schumacher, one of the most important exponents of expressive painting in the second half of the 20th century. With its exhibition program, the museum presents the artist Emil Schumacher in the context of parallel international developments in art and its temporal environment. Special exhibitions by eminent painters from Emil Nolde to Henri Toulouse-Lautrec or Karel Appel complete the exhibition program. A varied supporting program with lectures, readings, workshops and cinema as well as concerts from classical and jazz to world music creates a lively connection with the urban society.
