Museo Regional de Rancagua

The collections are exhibited in the Casa del Ochavo in different settings: living room, dining room, bedroom, desk and Independence Hall, where some nineteenth-century activities are recreated visually and aurally, such as the gatherings in the Hall, the passage of the night of street vendors in the adjoining streets, a typical lunch in the dining room or the independence meetings of our heroes in a living room similar to the one in this house. The Hall of Independence, with the model of the Battle of Rancagua and the story of objects of the time, moves to the battle itself and to the moments before and after this feat. In its renovated room of colonial imagery, there is a visual, symbolic and didactic tour of diverse expressions of the religiosity of the region, sculpture, painting and history. And in the second patio, the ambience of a kitchen of the last century He teaches some recipes of his own then. The Casa del Pilar de Esquina shows temporary exhibitions that highlight the regional and national cultural activity where artisanal expressions, painting, trades, religious art and patrimonial objects of ceremonial or domestic nature that teach about the native populations have a place of miscegenation and the events of our time.
