Teatro Regional Rancagua

For almost 100 years only knew of frustrated attempts. The community and its authorities wanted to have a decent space for culture and the arts, and a decree of the alcaldes of 1917 shows the need to have a "great cultural hall" in Rancagua. But the efforts were always nothing.

A story that came to an end on Thursday, July 17, 2013, when the Regional Theater of Rancagua was inaugurated. With a construction of almost 4,000 m2 and an investment of around $ 5 billion, the infrastructure has a wide foyer that welcomes and leads into the room, with a capacity of 660 seats, a stage of 460 m2 and a pit for orchestras .

The Regional Theater of Rancagua will allow to receive large-scale casts, such as operas, classical ballet and great symphony orchestras. The initiative saw the light of the program of Regional Theaters, which is part of the Bicentennial Legacy.

MISSION The Regional Theater of Rancagua has the mission of being a center of artistic diffusion that promotes the development of art and culture in the region. Through a permanent high level programming, leading the Regional Network of cultural spaces, in order to value local traditions and open scenarios to new proposals; representing the main meeting place for all citizens and a vital motor of local cultural identity.

VIEW The Regional Theater of Rancagua is projected as a space of encounter and exchange, between the inhabitants of the region of O'Higgins with the art and the local culture, national and international.

OBJECTIVES

1. To promote and generate in the communities of the region artistic programs of high quality and of local, regional, national and international relevance.
2. Facilitate access to artistic experiences for the majority of the regional population.
3. Generate the development and understanding of art forms, ranging from the traditional to the avant-garde artistic forms of expression
4. To support the development of talents, information, technology, and research in order to promote the growth of artists and artistic organizations.
