Restaurante Divertimento Chileno

Bruno Sacco, a civil engineer by profession, after working for more than ten years in Rome, in the World Food Program of the United Nations, evaluating projects in developing countries, decided to return to his native Chile and open a restaurant in Italian food. Thus it delighted the santiaguinos in his "The Divine Food".

At the same time, as vice president of the Chilean Association of Gastronomy, Achiga, was responsible for organizing and carrying out cooking competitions in Chile, aimed at professional chefs of restaurants and hotels. In the early nineties decided to organize a national contest, this time aimed at the owners of the house, in order to rescue the tradition of Chilean cuisine.

Pleasantly surprised by the amount and variety of delicious dishes that came to light thanks to the contest and, noting that in Santiago were few places of good level with Chilean cuisine offer, he decided in 1991 to open the Chilean Divertimento with dishes of wide local roots .

Little by little El Divertimento Chileno was transformed into a center of Chilean cuisine, where politicians, artists, television people, journalists and abundant foreign public who want to know and taste Chilean cuisine go. Lunch time is especially busy.

In 2009, the Circle of Gastronomic Chroniclers of Chile awarded us the prize for the best Chilean restaurant in the country.

The Divertimento Chileno is a company of the Sacco family, founded by Bruno and his wife. Two of his 3 daughters also work there. Flaminia followed in the footsteps of her father studying gastronomy in Lucern, Switzerland and is currently the executive chef. Another of her daughters, Michèle, is in charge of sales and public relations.

Located in the middle of the Metropolitan Park of Santiago, surrounded by gardens, very central and just minutes from the hotels, shopping centers and main arteries, it is an oasis in the middle of the city.
