Teatro Municipal de Niterói

The João Caetano Municipal Theater was reopened in 1995, after a thorough restoration. The recovery project faced a great challenge, which was to respect the historical aspects while at the same time endowing it with modernity. Throughout its history, the theater has undergone successive works of reforms that were altering the original form of the building, adapting spaces and disfiguring its historical nuclei, giving rise to a building with characteristics of different times. Nevertheless, the facade maintained the neoclassical architectural lines of the reform of 1888 and 1889.

Box office • Opening Hours • Advance tickets: • Tuesday to Friday - from 10am to 6pm. • Saturdays, Sundays and holidays - from 15h to 18h. If there is a Children's Theater, from 5pm to 6pm only. • Tickets for the show of the day: • Tuesday to Friday - from 10am to the start of it. • Saturdays and Sundays - Children's Theater: from 2 pm until the beginning of the show. | Other shows: from 3pm to the start of the show. If there is Children's Theater, from 5pm to the beginning. • The box office closes at the beginning of the show. • On weekends and holidays where there is no show and on Mondays, the box office will not work. • The box office closes for lunch from 1 pm to 2 pm. • For children's shows, there will be no marked place. • Check your tickets at the time of purchase. • It is not allowed to exchange or return tickets.

Discount • 50% - elementary, middle and high school students, over 60, under 21 and people with disabilities. • Discounts will only be granted upon presentation of the photo ID and validity.

General information • Tickets for sale in cash, on credit card, debit, by Vale Cultura and www.ingressorapido.com.br. • The theater opens 30 minutes before the start of the performances. • After the tolerance of 15 minutes of the beginning of the show, there will be no marked place. • Children under the age appropriate for the show may only enter and remain inside the theater accompanied by parents or guardians. • Plaza Shopping, encouraging the culture of Niterói, offers the public a one-time fee of R $ 9.00 in its parking lot for a single period of 4 hours. • Photographs are allowed without the use of flash, special illumination and tripod; filming only with prior permission from the theater's management. • Access and facilities for people with disabilities.
