With its white stone houses, its narrow streets, its boutique hotels, its amazing port and award-winning beaches, Alaçatı is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Turkey! This adorable town is located in İzmir, and specifically on the Western coast of Turkey. Alaçatı was originally built by the famous French architect, Francois Spoerry and his son, Yves Spoerry. The architecture of this cute town is indeed very "photographable". You will be amazed by the historical Ottoman houses, which were taken from their Greek owners over 100 years ago.
Beside Alaçatı's great architecture, you can also admire some of the most ancient windmills, dating back to 19th century and of course its vineyards! So, let's explore Alaçatı together!
First stop is the internationally awarded beach for windsurfing, Ilıca Beach! In this beach, you can enjoy the bluest sea, gorgeous waves and its sandy beach. If you don't know how to windsurf but still you want to learn, this beach is the perfect place to take some lessons. Even your kids can learn how to windsurf with the help of specially trained instructors- the children's equipment is provided and the warm and shallow water is no doubt ideal to do so! With its flat turquoise water and wind, Ilıca is one of the most visited windsurfing points for every age group.
If the windsurfing is not very appealing to you, you can enjoy the warm sea water with its healing powers! This sea has healing properties due to its thermal springs, which are actually merged with the it! The nutritious thermal waters come out of the seabed and mix with the mineral-rich sea water, creating that way the perfect conditions for a skin therapy. So here is the place, where you can literally enjoy the sea, meanwhile your skin gets flawless!
Let's now move to the historical city center of Alaçatı! While here, you can taste the most delicious wines, eat one of the best traditional foods of this region, shop for clothes, herbs, natural beauty products and so much more!
