Hasdeu Public Library, Chisinau

The current library was inaugurated on October 19, in 1877, initially as city library, and after as the municipal central library. In the years 1950-1988, it was called as A. A. Zhdanov Library. Since 1988, it was amed after the man of culture and science, writer B.P. Hasdeu. Public Library's mission is to provide an unrestricted access to information, ideas, readings, and encourage and support freedom of knowledge, freedom of expression to all.
