This is a new entry on the Algarve Beach Encyclopedia, dedicated to showing summer lovers all the amazing beaches of Algarve, in Portugal! This time you will discover the ones located in the parish of Loulé, a paradise of long sandstrips as far as the eye can see. As is usual with this series, the entire list of beaches is below, and a few of which have a more detailed view, just to tease you to travel to Algarve and admire them for real!
The parish of Loulé has a very extended coastline with several sandstrips that are all very long and wide. Finding the right spot in the sand is no problem, even if some of these beaches are among the favourites in the summer. The scenery is also never monotonous, as the environment offers something different with every beach, from a more urban setting, to the untouched seaside wilderness, dunes, lagoons and cliffs.
Praia da Quarteira
This peculiar sandstrip divided in six pockets is called Quarteira beach. It sits along a long avenue in the seaside of Quarteira city, full of restaurants, bars and entertainment options. It is a very popular choice in the summer because of its location, all of the activity that goes on all day and of course the great seaside walkways that offer great sights!

The unsupervised Praia do Trafal is a great long sandstrip of calm waters and a fantastic choice for naturists and others looking for a tranquil and perhaps more remote beach. The location also offers the mixed scenery of agriculture fields contrasting with a luxuous golf course nearby. This is an alternative to the other, more popular beaches of Loulé, with a lot to offer!

There are also two lagoons nearby, giving these beaches (Garrão and Dunas Douradas, presented below) their names. To add to the natural atmosphere, Parque Natural da Ria Formosa is really close by and is a must-see! This is a great beach with more than great waters and a peaceful sandstrip!
