Autumn is officially here, and most of us feel like going "back to school" and our daily routine. But what if I told you that in Almeria the summer never ends and you can still enjoy your beer in the hot sunny weather?

If you are a beer lover and looking for a reason to be happily drunk, Oktoberfest is probably the best festival, and there is no need to travel to Germany to enjoy it.

Oktoberfest was first celebrated in Munich in 1810. It was when Prince Ludwing got married to Princess Therese, and all citizens were invited to enjoy this great event. Nowadays, Oktoberfest became the World´s preeminent Beer Festival, and it is celebrated on the 12th of October every year.

As each town all around the world is celebrating Oktoberfest, so does Almeria. Specifically, Roquetas de Mar celebrates for the fifth consecutive year Oktoberfest, on Plaza de Torros. Oktoberfest, in this town, is different, with an "Andaluz" flavor: This means that they celebrate Oktoberfest with a touch of "Flamengo."

This year like every year, Oktoberfest returns to be the protagonist of gastronomic leisure in the municipality. The event starts in early October and lasts for seven days. Seven days of German culture! Every year a central tent and several tents around it are being set, and there you can taste different types of international cuisine and beers. The wide gastronomic offer and the atmosphere of the fair will transfer attendees to the center of Europe. In addition, Oktoberfest coincides with the patron saint festivities of Roquetas.

Except for German culture and gastronomy, visitors can enjoy live music and concerts that are organized these days. Famous Spanish singers and groups offer a great Spanish experience, and of course, a lot of activities and games are held on those days too.

If you’re one of the lucky gals, though, given the opportunity to travel and experience the Oktoberfest in Germany, here’s an article with everything you need to know before heading to Germany’s most attended annual event! Alara has done some excellent work and gathered all the relevant info so that you get to enjoy it well-prepared.
