Europe's largest city spa - Therme Wien

Living in the big city can sometimes be very stressful and what is the best way to release the stress then to go to spa. Vienna has lot of to offer in summer outdoor swimming pool and sand beach bars in the city centre, roof top bars, great ice cream and lot of festival and music all summer long. However, one of the things that Viennese can be proud of is the Europe's largest city thermal spa.

Therme Wien (German for Vienna Spa) is the biggest and the most modern spa in the city. It is very easy to reach it by public transportation, because the U1 metro line makes it possible to get to this oasis in the 10th district of Vienna in just 15 minutes from the city centre. The Therme Wien is also known as the thermal bath Oberlaa among the Viennese after the city part and spring Oberlaa. Its 36-year history the spa owes to the sulphur springs with a sulphur content of 64 mg / l and 62.4 mg / l. The two mineral springs are among the most effective in entire Europe.

This Vienna Spa sets very high standards in medicine and wellness and it was even honoured in 2011 and 2014 as the best spa in Europe. On a total area of ​​over 75,000 m², the recreational oasis in Oberlaa offers not only top-class architecture and appealing design, but also numerous state of the art facilities. It consists of around 4000 square metre of water surface, 3000 square metre of sauna area and a 6000 square metre health area. The health sector is important part of the spa with more than 200 treatments and therapies places available.

The Therme Wien consists of five areas, dedicated to different activities such as rest, relaxation, beauty, adventure etc. Here you can find a cave pool, whirlpool, outdoor pools, pool with the music and salty water, adventure slides, diving towers with the 1, 3 and 4 metre high jumping boards and massage tables. The 3000 square metre sauna area is equipped with finish saunas, steam baths, bio-saunas and cosy tepidarium.

In the Therme Wien you can also find the first spa library in Austria. Regardless of what you are up to, every guest has the opportunity to find something for himself no matter what time of the year it is.
