Here comes a summertime suggestion in the city of Nur-Sultan. Tourists usually wonder about where the locals spend their weekends in this central city of shopping malls. There are plenty of resting zones and holiday resorts located outside the town yet in a close distance. You can enjoy a combination of fun, rest and relaxation at a fair price, for example, by spending a weekend in the Kulager holiday resort in Nur-Sultan.

How to reach it

There is always the option to reach the place by car; however, you can also use the Yandex taxi service, which on average, will cost you 4000 tenges for a round trip. The resort is located in the Uchkhoz (former Internacionalnyi) village. You are advised to use the address of the place correctly: Zhagazhay, 59, when ordering a taxi. The Kulager holiday resort is just 30 min away from the city center. There you can be sure that you are quite away from the administrative part of the city and immerse fully in nature.

Where to stay

The resort is equipped with Kyiz ui (Kazakh traditional housing), which will cost you 20 000 tenges for the day, and can fit 20 persons. There are also tapchans available (gazebo in Eastern style) where people can rest and have their meals, or sleep even! The gazebo for up to 8 people will be 15 000 tenges/day, and if there are around 20 people, it will cost 20 000 tenges. The Kulager has many houses to stay for a night, which generally cost 55 000 tenges for a day and night stay. The resort's territory is big and full of greenery, which makes you feel close to nature but with comfort. You can hang around and explore the Ishim river and small lakes around the resort

Schedule and activities

The Kulager holiday resort works from Tuesday to Sunday from 11 till the last client leaves. Before going there, please make a call in advance to make sure the resort is open, and check the availability. You should also ask about the activities offered. Regarding those activities mentioned, the place is perfect for all groups of people, starting from families with kids to a group of friends. For the children, they offer trampolines, pony riding sites, a mini zoo, and there are also bicycles, horse riding, gun range, swimming pool, and, most importantly, the paintball game club. By the way, the horse riding will cost you around 2500 tenges with the instructor and 2000 tenges without. You will be making a round around the track for about half an hour. With those activities, your day can be full of joy and relaxation

Paintball

The paintball game is the most famous activity in the Kulager holiday resort. The price on average will be from 4000 to 6400 tenges with the outfit, weapon, and bullets per person to play. The duration of the game depends on the number of people and the process. Please note that there is a minimum of 6 persons in the group for the game to start. For additional bullets, you will be charged extra 1500 tenges: refill and keep enjoying the game. The personnel of the paintball club is very friendly, communicative and helpful. They can grant you a feeling that you are not just a client of the resort but like a long lost friend, which actually adds an extra positive vibe

Eating time

The resort has its own cafe with very good service and various meals at a fair price. However, it can be a little more expensive than the dining options in an average city cafe - but still affordable. It is highly recommended to try Shashlyk (barbecue meat), and most meals of Central Asian cuisine. Please do not forget to bring cash, as there are no ATMs around the resort. You are not allowed to bring your own snacks and drinks. You will be given instructions about Dos and Dont's, which you should follow; otherwise, there will be a penalty. It will be great to bring along a translator or a friend who speaks Kazakh or Russian, as you will most likely struggle with the personnel who do not speak English. If you do not have any friends available, you can always use body language, which is helpful all over the world.

To add more fun to your stay in the Kulager resort, you can bring a volleyball or a soccer ball and some board games. You can also bring a blanket, place it on the grass, lay down, and rest. The time spent here will take you away from the city, tiredness, and even worries that you might have. It can be such an entertaining and fun resort! Spending a weekend in the Kulager holiday resort will definitely be unforgettable, exciting, and probably the best memory you can make in Nur-Sultan
