The Chukhur Gabala is a village in the Gabala Region of Azerbaijan. Chukhur, which means "groove" in English, has an importance in the history of Gabala. There are the castle and ruins of the ancient city and the Gabala Historical-Cultural Reserve in the village. As a result of the perennial archaeological researches here, the remains of large buildings, fortress walls, material and cultural monuments of production and crafts were discovered. The coins found during the research testify the intensive trade ties of Gabala in the 16th-17th century, with a number of countries in the world, including Iran and China. You can find them in the Gabala Archaeological Center. The three-storey building of the Gabala Archaeological Center consists of exhibition halls, archaeological foundations, restoration laboratories, conference halls and rooms where archaeologists work.
