Ureki City - A place that will heal you

Anyone who thinks about spending few days or weeks in Georgia during summertime, probably the first place that comes to their minds is Batumi city. However, not everybody loves rocky beaches. I am sure that some of you prefer sandy beach as it is more comfortable to walk barefoot there.

In this article, I am going to tell you about Ureki city. This small town is 60 kilometres away from Batumi on the north side and it is located 4 meters above sea level. Ureki is surrounded by rivers called Sepa and Supsa from the north and south sides and by the mountains from the east side.

Archaeological excavations prove that this town was populated from the ancient times. On this territory, there was found bronze items which are dated back to 18-17 centuries BC. Ureki got a resort status in 1971.

Also, don’t forget to visit “Black Sea Arena” that is located near “Cicinatela”, especially if you like live concerts. This is the biggest concert hall in Georgia that was open in 2016 with the concert of Christina Aguilera. The hall can hold around 10,000 visitors.
