As the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana offers many beautiful sights, enjoyable activities and, of course, delicious food. The gastronomy in Slovenia is very diverse, especially in the capital, where everyone can find something to please their taste buds and lifestyle. As the number of people choosing a vegan lifestyle is growing all over the world, I would like to present just some of the restaurants in Ljubljana, serving vegan dishes, and help you find a beloved eating spot, where you can enjoy delicious and healthy plant-based meals.

Ajdovo zrno

This restaurant is located in a hidden courtyard, near Ljubljana’s city square with a statue of the greatest Slovenian poet in the middle of it. You will be served a tasty and healthy vegan meal as if you were preparing it by yourself at home. You can choose from all types of food from their self-service bar and create your own meal according to your wishes. In the warmer seasons of the year, you can sit on the terrace and enjoy a drink in the nice weather.

Gaudi

The name of this restaurant was inspired by a famous Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi, who was a vegetarian and spent the majority of his life eating healthy food. At Gaudi, they offer a wide spectrum of lunch, dinner and snack options, as well as original desserts made from nuts and dried fruits. Here, you will also have a chance to taste some of the traditional Slovenian dishes, made from potatoes and vegetables, as well as different types of soups and stews.

They offer vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options, with most of their food being locally grown. This is also the perfect spot for all of the wine and dessert lovers, as you can choose from their offer of local wines, that go perfectly with their tasty vegan desserts.
